About Category 5 Cabling
Category 5, network data cabling, which consists of 4 twisted pairs of the copper wire that are terminated by the RJ45 connectors. The category-5 cabling will support frequencies of 100 MHz as well as speeds to 1000 Mbps and it can be utilized for a token ring, ATM, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T, and 10Base-T cable networking. Using Category-5 cables links computers that are hooked up to the LAN s, thus if you are on LAN, probably cable running from the back of computer is Cat 5. There are 4 twisted pairs that are enclosed in a cable jacket, which will help in keeping signal to noise ratio as well as is thus not effected by the external intrusion or by another perverted pair cable. Thus any of the cross talk and leakage of the sound is evaded.
Category 5 or 5e cabling is important to businesses in Houston. More and more businesses in the Houston area are requesting category 5 installations for their businesses. We are here to meet that demand. Read more about cat 5 cabling below.
Outer sheath of Category-5 cable will come in lots of colors, with the bright blue being very common. Inside, twisted pairs are as well sheathed in the plastic with standard shade: Solid orange, green, blue, and brown cable wires that are twisted around the mates, which are white & striped with solid color. These are twisted in pairs inside Cat-5 cable decrease interference & cross talk, and must be left warped except at the termination point. A few experts suggest untwisting just ½ inch of pairs in order to strip as well as make connections. Category-5 cable is purchased off spool in differing lengths, and bought pre-cut to the standard lengths and RJ-45 jacks attached.
Core cable is been used to connect wall socket to patch panel socket whereas stranded cable is been used to connect hub to patch panel socket and wall port to computer. Cable and connector kinds and the cable topologies are been defined by the telecommunication standards named TIA/EIA-568-B. Connectors used to join Category 5 cables are named as 8P8C modular connectors and simply RJ-45 and there are 2 pin/pair assignments named T568A & T568B, which define order of the wire connection.
